About the event
The fundamentals of rifle marksmanship are aiming, stability of hold, breath control, trigger control and follow through
- Positional shooting: Choose a stance and grip that work well with the firearm and create a stable firing platform.
- Follow through: Maintain aiming, breath control, hold control, and trigger control until the gun settles back into the aiming area after firing.
- Trigger control: Trigger control is the final step to making a good shot.
- Breathing: Breathe in and out normally, and when you're in the middle of your exhale, you should be ready to fire. Holding your breath can affect your grip and cause tremors.
- Grip: Your grip is an important fundamental that can mean the difference between a well-placed shot and a miss.
